Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Cement producer Lafarge has announced to its European Works council that it plans to cut about 380 positions worldwide, 203 of these in France as previously reported.
At the same time the company is to create 37 positions in its research and development activities in France.
The reorganisation is in the in the frame of a reorganisation linked to the merger process with Swiss cement producer Holcim.
Lafarge actually employees 63,000 workers worldwide.
