Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Gtech, the vacuum cleaner maker headquartered in UK, will invest £10 million in its plant in Worcestershire. The investment is aimed to bring back some manufacturing activities currently performed by contractors in China. The production in the British plant will start in 2019 and 100 new jobs are expected at that time. The relocation is consistent with the need to shorten delivery times and to be closer to final consumers. At the same, the company will invest in R&D in order to launch a new product line "100% made in Worcestershire" by autumn 2018.
