Description
International banking group Barclays has announced that it is to create 200 new jobs at its site in Sunderland. The company employs around 1,500 at the Doxford Business Park, where it has been operating for 16 years. The new jobs are being created as Barclays seeks to establish the first 'centre of excellence' for detecting fraudulent transactions. A spokesperson for the company noted that attempts at fraud were increasing with the diversity of banking platforms which now exist and the new jobs have been put in place to detect this activity. It is not yet known when these positions will be filled.
