Description
Adhesives manufacturer MACtac Europe has announced a reorganisation which will result in the loss of 131 jobs at its headquarters in Zinnik (Soignies) and another 44 jobs will go at the production site in Genk (Limburg). The company plans to to make new investments and centralise production in the Soignies location. This move will result in the closure of the Genk site.
According to the company's management, these measures are necessary to ensure the profitability of the company and the continuation of its activities in Belgium.
The restructuring did not come as a surprise to trade unions which lamented the lack of investments since 2006.
