Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
IT services provider CSC is to dismiss 400 employees which is more than a third of its workforce in Denmark. This was announced in daily online news Borsen.dk on 14 April 2015.
Trade union Prosa that represents the majority of the employees in CSC confirmed that they have been informed by CSC about the planned redundancies. In total 500 will be dismissed in Denmark, Sweden and Norway and another 150 new jobs will be created. Thus the staff will be cut by 350 employees in Scandinavia.
In relation to the recent announcement CEO Jørgen Jakobsen said to borsen.dk that 'the transformation process might take up to 12 months. In the coming days CSC will focus on a dialogue with the employees and their organisations'.
