Description

Zagreb Holding, responsible for various communal services in Zagreb, announced its plan to employ 139 new bus and tram drivers in Zagreb City Transport. Zagreb's public transportation system (Zagrebacki elektricni tramvaj — ZET) consists of buses and trams that go throughout the city and extend beyond to close cities including Velika Gorica where the airport is located.

The recruitment is set to start immediately after the announcement. The new hires will receive training for six months and have one month introduction and driving practice with older colleagues.

According to trade unions, the number of accidents in the last few years increased due to shortage of drivers. Trade unions also demanded an increase in the number of ticket inspectors, but they will be mostly transferred from other departments.
