Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Call center company Eishtec has announced that it is to create 320 new jobs in County Armagh, Northern Ireland.
The new site outside Lurgan will be the company's first site in Northern Ireland and is being supported by a 1.5 million GBP investment. The company's decision to set up a new site was based on the orders from its client EE, the mobile phone network. The new jobs will pay approximately 17,000 GBP per annum and will be added over the coming three years. A spokesperson for the company confirmed that the recruitment drive had already started and 60 positions have been allocated. Another 240 are also expected to be hired immediately.
The company is based in the Republic of Ireland and already employs several hundred at a site near Waterford.
