Description
West Midlands based bakery Firkins has closed resulting in the loss of 104 full time and part time jobs.
Recent times have been challenging and the company had been in and out of administration three times in the last ten years. A statement from BRI Business recovery and Insolvency confirmed that although efforts had been made to increase sales, these had not been successful and the directors of the company had taken the decision to place the company into voluntary liquidation.
The company operated shops across the West Midlands including in Birmingham, West Bromwich and Solihull, and had been in business for over 140 years.
