Description
Dundee based construction company Muirfield has announced that 258 redundancies are to be made. Muirfield had previously entered administration and placed all employees and subcontractors on gardening leave. The company employed around 280 staff and contracted a further 110 as labour only subcontractors. Administrators have kept on 25 staff to help with winding down the company's business. The 258 redundant workers will not return to work. Despite being a well known name in Scottish construction, Muirfield has suffered cash flow problems and shrinking orders, which have led to the decision to call in administrators.
