Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Proximus, a Belgian mobile-phone service provider, has said that it intends to hire over 200 new employees in the first half of 2015. There may also be new hires in the second half. In the period since the beginning of 2015, the company has hired around 50 people. Another 162 hires are planned in the short term in Belgium. They will include 72 technicians, 24 salespeople, 44 IT experts and project managers, and 22 management trainees.
Total employment in the group has fallen from around 15,500 to 14,000 since the beginning of 2014 primarily as a result of divestments.
