Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Market research company Norstat has announced that it is closing down its office in Karlstad, Sweden, giving notice to 120 people. The activities of the Karlstad office, focused on telephone polling, will be taken over by Norstat's main office in Linköping. Of the 124 people at the office in Karlstad only eight are full-time employees, the remaining 118 are part-time employees. Four of the full-time employees have been offered new jobs in Lindköping. Norstat is a Norwegian owned company with offices in all Scandinavian countries. It employs a total of 160 people in Sweden.
