Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
US-owned hi-fi equipment and automotive supplier Harman is to create 420 new jobs at a production unit in Pecs (Hungary). This is a "brownfield" development on a site formerly occupied by Finnish electronics company Elcoteq. The new jobs are expected to be created by July of 2015. The company will be given a HUF 750 mln state subsidy for a total investment worth HUF 3.5 bln (EUR 11.46mn).
The company produces electroacoustic components for the car industry, including speakers, speaker systems and microphones.
Harman currently employs over two thousand people at another Hungarian plant at Székesfehérvár.
