Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Due to growing business, German car manufacturer BMW is to create 5,000 jobs in Germany in the course of 2015. Worldwide, a total amount of 8,000 jobs will be created.
According to BMW's chief human resources officers, specialist in the areas of alternative power units, light construction and IT will be most sought after. Moreover, the company hopes to attract more female workers. The works council chairman had already announced the job creation in Februar, now BMW has confirmed the numbers.
BMW currently employs around 110,000 people worldwide and is one of the biggest car producers in Germany.
There have been several rounds of job creations in the past years (see BMW-2010, BMW-01/2011, BMW-05/2011, BMW-2013) and staff have been increasing constantly.
