Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Telecommunications company BT has announced plans to create 300 new graduate jobs. The jobs will be spread across the UK in locations such as London, Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff, Newcastle, Manchester and Leeds. It is also understood that a large number of the jobs will be at the research site in Suffolk. In addition to creating 300 graduate jobs, BT is also creating 700 apprenticeships. It is understood that the jobs will be filled by the end of 2015 and that in addition to the geographical spread, they will also cover various divisions of the business.
