Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Universal Engineering has announced the creation of 200 jobs at its site in Llantrisant in South Wales. The company produces components with various applications in fields such as offshore oil and gas, and aerospace. The company opened its new plant in Llantrisant six months ago and now wants to take advantage of the skilled workforce in the area by expanding. It also plans a centre of excellence at the site, which has been backed by £2 million investment from the Welsh Government. The timetable for filling the new vacancies is not known.
