Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Software company, Dytecna, has stopped trading resulting in the loss of 150 jobs. The company designs and manufactures software equipment and the majority of its trade was related to contracts in the defence sector. The company, which is based in Malvern, Worcestershire, entered administration in early February 2015. Administrators were unable to find a way to enable the company to continue. The company also has sites in Fareham, Hampshire and in Welshpool, Powys. It is understood that 95 job losses will be at the Malvern site with remaining job losses coming from the other two sites.
