Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 27 January 2015, producer of electric domestic appliances, FagorMastercook, implemented a collective dismissal programme affecting 805 jobs at its Wrocław unit. Redundant workers will receive severance pay.
The factory in Wrocław was founded in 1946 and was state-owned until it was acquired by Fagor in 2002.
As ERM previously reported in 2014, the company announced a bankruptcy ratified by court decision and it has been managed by the company’s trustee since February 2014.
