Description
Audio equipment manufacturer Bose has announced that its plant in Co Monaghan is to close, with the expected loss of 140 jobs.
The manufacturing functions of the plant are understood to be transferring to Asia and Mexico.
SIPTU, the sole union at the facility, is seeking at least an extension of time before the plant closes operations in April. The union is meeting senior management, as well as management officials from the company's USA base, on January 29, 2015.
The Bose plant opened in Ireland in 1978.
