Spanish public postal service Correos is planning to dismiss 205 employees in the Autonomous Community of Valencia. Some 116 jobs are expected to g in Valencia, 26 in Castellon and 63 in Alicante. According to trade union CCOO, the labour adjustment plan will imply that services will be reduced from five days a week to one day in different cities and neighbourhoods. Slaughtering and cutting being centralized at Vinderup and packaging and warehouse operations remaining in Skovsgaard.
The trade union has also criticized that Correos is offering more specialized services while at the same time it is reducing its staff. Bearing those reasons in mind, CCOO has announced that it will open negotiations with other trade unions in order to initiate demonstrations and strikes.
