Swedish ball-bearings manufacturer SKF has decided to merge its Strategic Industries division with Regional Sales and Services which will result in a reduction of 200 white-collar jobs. Negotiations with the union have been initiated. The purpose of the restructuring is to streamline the organization and to reduce operational complexity. The company plans to have finalized the reductions by the end of February. The reductions will primarily take place in Gothenburg but also at other sites in Sweden.
SKF employs 1,641 people in Sweden and 48,401 globally.
