Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Netia, a Polish telecom operator, announced a restructuring programme which aims at reducing the workforce by up to 400 jobs (approx. 20% of the workforce) in the group by the end of March 2015. The company revealed that 350 jobs will be cut through collective dismissals . The programme will mainly affect the units in Warsaw and Wroclaw. The company is in the process of negotiating with the local trade unions about the conditions of the restructuring programme.
