Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Logicdata, producer of control systems for the furniture industry, is expanding its business at its headquarter in Deutschlandsberg which will result in the creation of up to 145 new jobs.
The company was able to almost double its turnover in 2013/2014 and its turnover is expected to exceed €50 million this year. This was supported by a good performance of their main costumers, particularly in the USA. The company’s founder and managing majority partner announced significant investments in the expansion of the company headquarters in Deutschlandsberg (Styria), were the research and development division is located. As a result, Logicdata plans to hire between 115 and 145 new employees. As by November 2014 it is unknown when the job creation will be implemented.
Logicdata is a worldwide market leader in its niche and has branches and establishments in Michigan (US) and Hongkong. The manufacturing of its products is carried out by companies in China, Hungary and Slovakia.
