Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Slovak engineering company Kovaco will create up to 300 new jobs at its new plant recently opened in Ostra Luka nearby Zvolen. The Company, which produces machinery for agriculture and construction, industrial manipulators and welding positioners, invested about EUR 4.3 million in building a new 2,500 square meters plant. Till the end of 2014, the first 60 workers will be employed there. But, in the next two years, the space of the plant will be doubled and in total 300 workers will find job there. Kovaco is export oriented and sells its products to 15 countries worldwide. So far, the Company has a plant in Velka Lehota nearby Zarnovica with 60 employees.
