Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Swedish construction equipment manufacturer Volvo Construction Equipment plans to cut 100-150 jobs at its sites in Braås, Hallsberg, Arvika and Eskilstuna. The cuts will affect both white and blue collar workers as the company shifts production of loaders to facilities in China.
The shift of production is part of a large savings program which affects the entire Volvo Group.
Volvo Construction Equipment employs a total of 14,000 people world-wide.
The ERM has reported on previous restructuring events at Volvo Construction Equipment in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014a and 2014b.
