Description
Finnish producer of wiring systems PKC Group announced that it is cut 502 jobs as a result of closure of the factory in Sosnowiec by the end of 2014. The production will be relocated to the new factory in Serbia, and the restructuring programme is associated with the consolidation of the wiring systems business in Europe and South America.
The factory in Sosnowiec was founded in 1998 by German company Segu and it was acquired by PKC Group in 2011.
PKC Group designs and produces wiring systems mainly for automotive industry. The group has production units in Brazil, China, Estonia, Lithuania, Serbia, Finland, Germany, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and the USA.
The ERM reported previous restructuring events in 2012 and 2009.
