Description
The commercial court of Paris approved the take-over of Caddie, a manufacturer of supermarket trolleys. This will lead to 252 job cuts. The new owners are: a former CEO, the Italian company Bertoldi that sells Caddie products and the German company ShopBox with activities involving maintenance of supermarket trolleys. 128 jobs will be retained: 105 at the main plant in Drusenheim (Bas-Rhin) and 23 at the site in Oberhausbergen (Bas-Rhin).
Caddie was placed into receivership in August. The new owners expect a turnover of €17 million (in comparison to €37 million in 2013) and took the commitment to avoid any dismissals for two years. The new owners were supported by public authorities and the agency for economic development of Bas-Rhin department. In 2012, Caddie was placed into receivership and was taken over by the group Altia.
