Description
Manufacturer of construction equipment JCB has announced that it is to lose 150 jobs across its UK operations. The majority of the cuts are expected from the company's Staffordshire head office, though sites in Derbyshire and North Wales may also be affected. The company has taken the decision to cut staff following a decline in its overseas markets.
A spokesperson for the company confirmed that the cuts will affect office staff only. The company is hopeful that some of the effects can be mitigated by achieving some of the reductions through early retirement and voluntary redundancy. A 45 day consultation on the proposals is now underway.
