Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Call centre provider Sitel has announced the creation of up to 600 jobs in the West Midlands. The company has announced that it is to create a new office which will be based in Coventry's Sherbourne House. It is reported that 300 of these jobs will be created over the next six months, and the remaining 300 will be filled by the end of 2015. These new jobs will add to the 2,400 currently employed by the company in the UK. The company currently has five sites into the UK, including the head office in Stratford upon Avon which is just a short distance from the new site in Coventry.
