Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has announced it is to create 807 new jobs in Belfast. 500 of the new jobs are for graduates and the remaining jobs will be for qualified accountants. The announcement confirmed that the jobs would be filled over a five year period.
The jobs are supported by a total investment package of £40 million, over £4 million of which will be provided by Invest NI. The latest expansion by PwC follows previous rounds of expansion in Northern Ireland, reported in 2012. It also follows other companies' expansion of professional jobs within the province.
