Description
Dutch dairy co-operative group FrieslandCampina announced plans to close its dairy drinks production site in Sleidinge. As reported, 114 jobs will be affected, while a relocation option will be offered to 20 employees to move to a production site in Aalter, also in the province Oost-Vlaanderen.
As announced, the cost-cutting measure is due to the declining demand for milk products, while the technology and packaging used at the plant are also not modern. The closure is expected to take place in 2015.
