American company, Johnson Controls, producer of automotive components and provider of automation systems, announced that it is to increase the employment by 11% (50 jobs will be created) at the factory in Skarbimierz (Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone). The restructuring programme is associated with the production of seats for a new model of BMW.
The factory in Skarbimierz has been operational since 2008 and was acquired by Johnson Controls in 2011. The factory was previously owned by Keiper.
Johnson Control was founded in 1885. The company operates in 150 countries and employs about 170,000 people. The company has units in 6 Polish locations, including: Skarbimierz, Siemianowice Śląskie, Katowice, Bieruń and Świebodzin.
The ERM reported other instances of restructuring announced by the company in 2012, 2006 and 2005.
