Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Parts giant DHL will recruit 700 new workers as a result of the decision by Tata Motors to manufacture the new Jaguar XE sports saloon at the Jaguar Land Rover factory in Solihull in the UK’s West Midlands. DHL is the largest supplier to Jaguar Rover. The 700 new integrated jobs will be in addition to 1,700 jobs being created directly at the Solihull factory. Recruitment has already commenced to fill the 2,400 jobs across DHL and Jaguar Land Rover. In addition, it is estimated that a further 2,000 other jobs will be created in the wider supply chain where 150 new supply firms engaged to supply components.
