Howden CKD Compressors, a subsidiary of the multinational engineering company Howden, is to create 100 new jobs within the next 3 years and to expand its Prague site by shifting the production of standard crew compressors to the Czech Republic. The production is to commence at the beginning of November 2014. The business expansion is based on the intention of the parent company to create one of the main production centres of the division, the so-called Centre for Engineering Excellence.
In 2013, Howden acquired ČKD Kompresory, a leading supplier of multi-stage centrifugal compressors to the oil and gas, petrochemical, power and steel industries.
