Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
XLN has announced that it is to create 300 new jobs as it looks to expand. The services company which provides phone and broadband, card processing and energy services to business users will house its sales and account management teams in the new site at One North Bank, Sheffield. The company currently employs 250 people at its London site and has been looking to expand its business by taking up new accommodation in other cities for some time.
It is reported that recruitment for these positions has already started in advance of the new premises opening on 9 September 2014. It is reported that the positions will be filled over a five year period. One source reports that the total number of jobs created could be as high as 400 if XLN decide to take space on another floor.
