European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Takeda Pharma Vertrieb is to create up to 260 jobs in Germany, 100 in Singen and up to 160 in Oranienburg. According to the CEO, job creation is due to increasing sales and new substances which shall be introduced to the market within the next years. There was no information given about the end date of the job set-up. Currently, Takeda employs around 1,700 people in Germany.
Takeda is the biggest Japanese producer of pharmaceuticals. In 2013, sales increased by 8,6 percent to 12,7 billion euros. Takeda employs 30,000 people worldwide.
The company was Swiss Nycomed before and acquired by Takeda in 2011. In the following, the company cut between 1,000 and 1,200 out of 2,500 jobs in Germany (see FS72999).
