Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Takeda Pharma Vertrieb is to create up to 260 jobsĀ in Germany, 100 in Singen and up to 160 in Oranienburg. According to the CEO, job creation is due to increasing sales and new substances which shall be introduced to the market within the next years. There was no information given about the end date of the job set-up. Currently, Takeda employs around 1,700 people in Germany.
Takeda is the biggest Japanese producer of pharmaceuticals. In 2013, sales increased by 8,6 percent to 12,7 billion euros. Takeda employs 30,000 people worldwide.
The company was Swiss Nycomed before and acquired by Takeda in 2011. In the following, the company cut between 1,000 and 1,200 out of 2,500 jobs in Germany (see FS72999).
