Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The IT consultancy and software company Computacenter has announced plans to open a new site at Pérols near Montpellier (Hérault). About 270 jobs will be created by 2017 and the first employees started to work in a temporary office, before moving into a new building by the end 2014. The new site will provide call centre and shared services.
As reported, a few positions will be offered to employees currently working in Roissy (Val-d'Oise) where Computacenter has launched a social plan to cut about 232 positions amd also to staff from the Barcleona site. The job expansion plan is financially supported by local authorities and the state.
