Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Polish producer of metal components for furniture, Odra, announced plans to implement a collective dismissal programme affecting 213 jobs at its unit in Opole. The programme will be carried out between 20 August and 18 September 2014. According to the sources, the restructuring is the result of the contract termination of a crucial contractor.
As reported, the job reduction measure may affect also people with disabilities since the site is a sheltered workshop.
The company has been operating for 65 years and produces metal components for furniture and provides services such as varnishing and electroplating.
