Description
Greek government is to cut 6,500 civil service jobs till the end of 2014. As reported, the job reduction measure is in the framework of a previously announced plan to cut 15,000 public sector jobs by the end of 2014, as part of the austerity measures agreed with the country's international lenders (IMF, EU and ECB). The job cuts are expected to take place from September 2014.
According to the sources, 3,600 jobs were lost in 2013 and 5,000 ones in the 1st half of 2014.
