European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Medical technology manufacturer Covidien is to cut 95 out of 730 jobs in Neustadt an der Donau. The company intends to restructure its production which shall be partly transferred to Mexico in order to decrease costs and improve competitiveness. Covidien is an Irish headquartered global company with around 40,000 employees.
UPDATE 2014-12-12: As reported by Mittelbayerische Zeitung on 4 December 2014, Covidien will cut 80 instead of 95 jobs. Works council and management have negotiated a social plan.
