Description

UK chain of car parts and cycling equipment stores, Halfords, has said that will recruit 500 new workers due to the increasing demand for bikes. The company has a current workforce of 12,000 staff spread across 465 Halford stores and 303 garages.

The company attributes some of the increase in sales of bicycles to the fact that its bikes are designed by the former world champion of cycling. More recently, the first three stages of the Tour de France were held in England, which has also been seen as one of the explanatory factors that has led to the expansion of the business. Vacancies for the 500 new jobs are advertised on the company's website, where the new jobs are described as permanent and spread across the 464 Halford stores.

ERM reported previously announced restructuring events in 2008 and 2010.
