Description
German caravan and motorhome manufacturer Hobby will cut 130 out of 1,036 jobs. As reported, after negotiations with the works council and trade union IG Metall the cost cutting measure will take place on a voluntary basis and via early retirement. According to the management, forced redundancies are not excluded after September 2014, depending on the number of voluntary dismissals
Hobby is the second largest caravan manufacturer in the world. As exports constitute a large part of the company’s business, Hobby suffered from decreasing demand on the European market.
