Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
OPAP, Greece’s sole sports betting and lottery group,announced a voluntary exit plan for 656 employees at its sites in Attica and Thessaloniki.
According to the sources the Organization of Football Prognostics offers a voluntary redundancy plan for about three-quarters of its staff at OPAP Services, located in Attica (Athens and Peristeri) and Thessaloniki in order to minimize costs. The timetable for submitting applications is June 30th to July 15th for the company’s 656 out of the 900 employees. The plan refers to all employees of OPAP Services having permanent contracts and continuous service over 18 months till 30 June 2014.
The company has not made any announcement however employee representatives confirmed the restructuring plan.
