The expansion was made possible, in part, by an injection of £3.9 million from Invest NI, with Northern Ireland's First Minister reported saying that the creation of the 484 new jobs would bring an additional £22 million each year to the local economy. First Derivatives was established in 1996 at at the time of listing on the stock exchange in 2002, it had 26 employees. For a previously announced expansion plan see First Derivatives-UK2009.
