Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Applegreen, which operates motorway service stations, has announced it will create 360 new jobs in Ireland as part of its expansion plan for 2014-2015. According to the sources, the company will open six new service forecourts across the country. The new forecourts will be based on motorways in counties Dublin, Waterford and Tipperary.
The source also reports that in addition to the 360 Applegreen jobs, the expansion will also create 250 temporary construction jobs. The ERM previously reported on restructuring at Applegreen in 2010.
