Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Austrian producer of automobile and aircraft leather upholstery Wollsdorf has announced that it will create 250 jobs when it opens its new factory in Jalžabet Varaždin. At this plant, leather upholstery will be produced for car brands including Ferrari, Jaguar and BMW. According to the source, the job creation is a result of a €8.5 million investment by the company. The factory will be built by September 2014 and fully operational by June 2015. The source reports that the first 40 employees will be recruited in July 2014 and will be sent for training in Austria.
