Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Irish clothing retailer, Primark, has announced that it will create 400 jobs when it opens a new store in Arnhem in September 2014. According to the source, about 3,200 people in the Arnhem region, who are in receipt of social welfare benefits, were sent a letter notifying them of the job creation by the company. However, figures are not available on how many of these people will be offered jobs.
