Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Healthcare organisation Amstelring has announced that it will cut between 500 and 700 jobs in the next two years. According to the source, 139 employees have already been notified of their dismissal. In July a second round of staff layoffs will commence affecting those who are employed in support services. The company currently employs a total of 4900 staff and the source reports that mainly low skilled employees will be affected by the restructuring. Some job cuts will be made through natural attrition, although exact numbers are not yet available.
