Dutch supermarket chain Ahold announced that it will cut 210 jobs at its head office in Zaandam. The company currently employs a total of 1,500 people in Zaandam. According to the source, the restructuring is part of a new organisational structure at the group.
The source reports that 130 jobs will be cut through redundancies and the rest of the job cuts will be made through natural attrition. Ahold hopes to make the redundancies through voluntary means and limit the number of forced dismissals. According to the source, the restructuring will take one year to be completed.
