Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
One of the biggest banks in Denmark, Jyske Bank, announced plans to cut 177 jobs. According to the sources 92 employees will be dismissed directly while the remaining 85 job reductions will take place through natural attrition and internal transfers during this year. According to the bank, the reason for the restructuring is the lower financial activity in the recent years and the merger with the mortgage association BRFkredit.
The announced job cuts are part of a larger job reduction plan aiming to reduce the group's total workforce to around 4,000 people in the next years.
