European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Cereal manufacturer Kellogg's faces redundancies at its Manchester site after plans were announced to move some of its office functions to Bucharest in Romania. The Manchester site employs 600 people, of which 80 are thought to be affected by this announcement.
This is part of a plan to streamline the company's global operations, which has already resulted in job losses at other sites in the UK. The company confirmed that a consultation process has started to determine which parts of the business are most suitable for relocation. The timescale for the job losses has yet to be determined.
